I PRACTICE WHAT I PREACH Because it works! This is my story.

As a Coach, I am often asked about how I can be so sure that my coaching philosophy is indeed transformational. My response is that I’ve seen it work more times than I can count.

Yet I didn’t always practice this philosophy, because I was not yet knowledgeable that there was indeed a way to take back the controls in my life. I was one of those people who lived by my feelings- my emotions dictated almost all of my reactions. I had no awareness that I had the ability to completely dismantle the crippling notion of being a victim of my circumstances.

You don’t have to live a life dictated by how you feel, or how you allow someone else to make you feel…you can choose.

It was in my role as a young multi-store leader that I was exposed to the initial wisdom of Stephen Covey that would forever change my life. We were given an assignment to read The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. In that reading I learned that I didn’t have to live by feelings. I wasn’t subject to the debilitating opinions of other people. While I couldn’t always control what happened to me, I had 100% control of my responses to those circumstances. WOW. Mind blown. I immediately began to practice incorporating this awareness, and my ability to choose. Eventually I began teaching this philosophy to all of my employees. My life was changed, as were so many lives around me.

Flash forward to much later in my career, where I was experiencing a great deal of success. I held several Executive and Officer positions for some very well-known companies. I was responsible for millions of dollars of revenue- at one point that number reached almost $1 billion…I was flying high!

It’s not about failing, it’s about learning from that failure. And then failing forward.

We don’t get what we want in life, we get what we believe we are worth.

I’ve said this repeatedly, and here I go again- it sounds simple, and it is. The principles of the power of your mindset to change your life ARE simple. It’s the breaking of old patterns of thinking- the negative self-talk that keeps you stuck with the same results day in and day out, that takes hard work. It takes time to build new healthy habits, to learn how to think, and how to think differently, in a creative, limitless way. It doesn’t matter if you’re a business person, a student, a physician, a teacher, an athlete, artist, or teenager. These philosophies work for EVERYONE who is willing to do the work of the work.

Several years later, I’m here to share that my life is as abundant as I dare to dream it can be. My business is growing every single day, I am blessed to work with Clients- both individual and corporate- who are applying what they are learning and creating limitless success for themselves. I am enjoying tremendous freedom with my time and money, created by doing what I love- helping others break out of their very own Groundhog Day movie.
