Is it Time to Hit Life’s Reboot Button?

It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that technology is not my bailiwick. I’m fortunate that I have people around me who are handy in that respect. Oftentimes, however, I’ve found that all I really need to do when mechanical things freeze up or get stuck, is to simply turn them off and back on again- a simple reboot. Almost all the time, that seems to work.

Life is like that, isn’t it? How often have you wished you could hit your own personal reboot button and begin something again? We spend far too much time either longing for the past, or regretting it, or we’re frozen in our current situation- afraid to take a step out of turn, or even more tragic- we’ve relinquished any real hope that our futures can be different. So we settle for where we are and assume that’s the best it’s ever going to be.

Sound familiar?

Well, here’s the good news. While you can’t change your past, you CAN create a different future…in essence, you CAN hit the reboot button on your own life and create a fresh start.

How?

This week I’ll be sharing powerful tips to help you do just that. Here are the first 2:

1. Decide that you are willing to open your mindset to another way of living your life.
I can guarantee you that NOTHING will change unless you start with an open mind. Ask yourself how your current choices have been working out for you…if your life is in great shape, terrific! Please share this email with someone you know who is in need of a reboot. If your life isn’t so rosy, what have you got to lose by allowing for the possibility that there might be another way to think about things. If you’re not willing to do that, stop reading. When you’re in enough pain in your life, you’ll be ready then. Until then, you’ll continue to rationalize…or, ration lies…think about that.

2. Decide specifically what areas of your life you want to reboot.
Write them down. Is it your career? Your relationship(s)? Your health? Your finances? Your dreams? Your parenting? Your confidence? Write them all down, and be as specific as you can with what you want to change…think of this exercise as life’s magic wand, where you can create the life you’d love to have.

If you’re committed to steps 1 & 2, you’ve already started your reboot- congratulations! More to come tomorrow.
