If I had a dollar for every Employee and/or Client who said to me, “Just tell me what to do and I’ll do it!”, I might be lounging on my custom deck overlooking the Amalfi Coast with a glass of Tignanello as I write this blog!
So often we are quick to look elsewhere for the answer, solution, idea, etc. because we doubt the power within.
Consider this:
Your brain is a vast database of 30 BILLION neurons, each capable of storing up to a million bits of information. You gain insight by stimulating new connections between your stored data or experiences. Perhaps greater still is the vastly untapped gift of your intuition and imagination.
“So how do I tap into those resources more effectively, Deb?”
Great question! Speaking of questions, it was Anthony Robbins who said, “The quality of your life is a direct reflection of the quality of the questions you are asking yourself.” And I would add, as well as the quality of the questions you allow yourself to be asked.
You see, that’s where Coaching is so powerful. It is quite simply one of the most impactful relationships known to mankind because at its core it’s about the Coach asking the questions of the Client that require that they delve deep- past limiting beliefs, past disappointments, past the opinions of others, past circumstances…to their intuition and imagination…to that vast database of stored knowledge…to their answers.
One of THE most rewarding parts of the Client experience is that ‘AHA’ moment where they begin to realize that they DO have solutions, ideas, possibilities, answers, when they sit in the question and think differently. And it gets better…this happens with EVERY SINGLE CLIENT. Why? Because the answers are ALWAYS within the Client…they just aren’t yet aware of them.
Ask yourself this question- Where would you like to be in your life one year from now?
Are you confident that you can get to that destination on your own? If so, terrific! I wish you much success! If not, why not? What is getting in your way? What if I told you that you DO know how to get to that desired destination, that it just hasn’t entered your consciousness yet?
